1 image of Saturn (click to enlarge)
and its rings taken Nov. 16, 1980, four days after closest approach
to Saturn, from a distance of 5,300,000 km (3,300,000 miles). This
viewing geometry, which shows Saturn as a crescent, is never achieved
from Earth. Click

Hubble
Space Telescope images, taken with the Wide Field Planetary Camera

up from just past edge-on to nearly fully open as it moves from
autumn towards winter in its Northern Hemisphere. Click

The
image at the right shows Saturn with moons Tehtys (above) and Dione.
